SADAT BASHIR- THE SHAME FOR OUR COUNTRY

We live in a world surrounded by disgusting men. A lot of guys would be offended by hearing me say this, but maybe you are unfamiliar with the incident that happened with 80 girls! If you are a constant internet user, this news shouldn’t be new to you. When a professor of a medical college sexually harassed 80 girls. YES A PROFESSOR!

The story has been described by one of the victims, fallen of his filthy act herself. She describes the day of her biology practical which was held on 24th may, 2018. That day she reached early to get her practical copy checked, people warned her by saying “examiner is very strict”, but she had no idea what sort of the person examiner really was. Another shocking thing was that the professor was not even allowing the teacher of the students to accompany them within the practical room.  But somehow there teacher managed to get in, by taking permission of the principal. The professor’s name is “Sadat Bashir” and he’s the person who harassed 80 girls that day. Those girl went through a horrible time because of what that professor did to them. While she was performing her practical that so called professor touched her and made harassing comments. You can search the rest of the story because I really don’t have the guts to repeat what she went through, she and the other girls.

The teacher that was within the room with the girls, asked them to stay quiet so they don’t lose their marks, but they lost their dignity, their confidence and their faith in their safety. It is claimed that if a woman or a girl is sexually harassed it’s because of the way she dresses, or she somehow gives a signal to men to come at her, but these were young girls, and they were dressed in their uniforms. I am ashamed while writing this knowing that I couldn’t help them.

That professor scarred those girls for life, and they were scared because he held their futures in his hands. Being a female I know the pain and misery it gives you when someone makes a sleazy comment on your appearance or your body while walking on the road or anywhere. No matter how you are dressed, it is always something that men need to make a comment about, but they can’t accept is that, whatever signal they need might be coming from their own sick, brutal and disgusting brain.

The problem with our society is that, now a days, rape and sexual harassment has become so common that people have stopped taking it into consideration. First, if a female experience any type of harassment she is told to keep her mouth shut. Because she will bring “shame” to the family. But we really need to think to ourselves, is that what really what women deserve? They don’t deserve to talk about their oppressors? Do they don’t deserve a right to live?

Everyone needs to stand with these girls. Zainab, Asifa and now them, how many more girls we need to lose before we realize we need to stop these sick minded rapists and sexual harassers? We should stand against such acts and make sure criminals like these get punished for their barbaric deeds. And guys, stop it before it happens to a girl of your family.
