Fashion Among Youth

Fashion means something new or a change in matter of our living. Fashion can simply define as new trends in living style which a community or a society approaches for change. Fashion gives a new fresh look to a society. As for lead a good and better life, change is very important. But, the change must be good and acceptable to the basic desires of living.
Every age has its own fashions. Man by nature likes novelty in life. He is after variety. It is said that variety is the spice of life. From ages man is weeping over fashion & its disadvantages but everybody also like to adopt these fashions. It’s man nature that he gets weary of the old and dull routine of life. He does up to date his lifestyle. When a person adopts a new style in matter of dress or hairstyle, he is called fashionable.

Glamor:

Unfortunately, nowadays fashion is known as adopting new and glittery clothes, shiny nail paints & shoes, strange useless hairstyles etc. Specially, the youth is affecting from the worthless fashion. They’re adopting it in their lifestyle, which is an alarming concern for a respectable & sensible cultured society. More dangerous thing to know is that students are fond of fashion. This is an alarming situation for our society. Students are the future of a nation, if they waste there precious time on these worthless fashion, so who’ll give time for the sake of good progress of nation.
Overall youth is fond of fashion. Young boys & girls are getting involved in it at a big rate to know. Of course, this is an age of pride &vanity. They’re not mature enough to differentiate between good and bad. They adopt every new trendy fashion & hence waste their parent’s money. Even though, they lose their dignity in adopting vulgar & impudent fashion.
No sooner does a student join a college, than his dress undergoes a radical change. They give importance to western clothing over their real culture. They like to wear jeans, knickers, ties, shorts & collars etc. Young boys & girls value branded accessories over a common accessory. They waste their money over branded perfumes, watches, handbags, shoes and other accessories. They waste their time in making new hairstyles. If a girl comes to college with a tidy pony tail of hairs, next day she’ll prefer untidy rough straight hairs. And one day she’ll cut them short for the sake of new fashion. Boys spend their money over new hair cutting & dyes. Students don’t concentrate on their studies and devote much time on such fashion. This is not desirable.

Drugs & Smoking

Drugs & smoking is penetrating as a fashion in our culture forcefully. Our youth is getting attractive from this devilish fashion. Boys & girls smoke proudly in public. Even though drinking is also getting common in our society. This effect can harm our future generation which is hidden to this young immature generation. They learn from their favorite celebrities. They watch them doing smoking or drinking in film, they try to copy them.

Slang Language

Another very serious topic to discuss is communication effects of fashion. Young people give imp to talk in slang and thug language. They try to talk in English to look smart. Unfortunately, abusing and slanging is also getting into fashion. Young children think it looks cool & attractive while they’re talking to their friends. They try to talk like a gangster. They use words like “LOL” & “ROFL” etc. in their conversation feeling proud. This is damaging their talking ability. Today it is must to abuse your friend otherwise you’re no more friends.

Junk Food

Man is fond of change in every generation. This change even has taken over food. Youth is preferring junk food over healthy natural food. They mostly copy their friends in this matter. They become a vegetarian for no reason just for the sake of fashion. They stop eating meat. They start doing useless dieting, because their friend or their favorite stars are doing this. They change their lifestyle, their moral values only after fashion & luxury, attractive lifestyle. Only our elders can prevent us from this unwanted excessive fashion. They teach us the real values & basic desires of life. Alas! Youth has also found a way to attain their fashion desires & make their elder happy. They've mixed up their culture with fashion, which gives disastrous results.
Girls are wearing hijab but in a fashionable way. Their hijab also looks attractive. They wear abaya but in a fashionable way. Boys wear shalwar-kameez decorated with shiny stones on it. They think that they’re giving respect to their culture in a fashionable manner. God knows which way is good & which is bad.
Fashion is not a bad thing, but the way of adoption make it bad or good. Good fashion gives a decent & groomed look to a person. We cannot curse fashion. But we also cannot allow it to dominate over us. An excessive craze of fashion is unwanted and useless. Our youth should live a simple and convenient life.
