IS BEAUTY A CURSE?

Consider a blue-eyed and blonde haired or in other words, a gorgeous specimen of human being passing through a trending café. How many second glances will they receive throughout their stay?
Well, this is not rocket science that an individual blessed with genes of beauty tends to live their life in a spotlight, receiving tons and tons of attention. The million dollar question is “Do they really want this?”
Why do people pay heaps of attention to their looks? Why do women spend hours upon perfecting their makeup? Or why do men style their hair meticulously?
Everybody wishes for beauty. We want to look good in front of others and end up putting a great deal of effort in it. But as they say, beauty comes at a price. These people born with charm and allure suffer from its numerous consequences. Some of them are as follows:
  • STEREOTYPES:
The worst pitfall of good looks is ruthless stereotyping. Phrases like “Dumb blonds” are quite common in this era. People always assume that a pretty face has no skills to begin with and if they are successful, it is because of their looks. This so-called judgment is baseless and vain; pointing fingers at somebody without knowing anything is plain awful.  It’s quite upsetting for the person targeted, as they may have worked hard to achieve that status.
  • THE VILE GREEN MONSTER – JEALOUSY:
Attractive attributes are bound to get you a fair share of stink eyes and ugly sneers. Whether be it a classroom, coffee shop or an office, such people are faced with jealous co-workers quite often. It is rather unpleasant to know that someone hates you or isn’t fond of you just because you are blessed with celebrity-like looks. The said person may feel threatened from your beauty and behave in an aggressive manner. It may invite fights and other ill feelings. You can’t help it since god made you this way.  Just let them throw their hissy fits and go on with your life.
  • FAKE FRIENDS:
Since beauty goes hand in hand with limelight, it tends to attract a lot of gallantry and sweet talk. It becomes hard to distinguish between fake and real. Such people always have someone hovering over them. They may receive favors quite frequently. Someone might bring coffee for you, or do the homework you forgot to do last night, just so they can get in your good books. Why would they do this? You ask. Well maybe, they just want to share the limelight with you or boost their popularity level.
  • INTIMIDATION:
Let’s just admit, all of us have shied away from striking a conversation with an attractive person once in our lifetime. “What if they laugh at us? What if they insult us?” are the common thoughts dilly-dallying in our mind at such a time. We fear rejection; we fear that we are not good enough to be associated with such a person sporting the looks of a runway model. We ignore them due to our insecurities.
Moreover, people feel that being seen with a good-looking person might overshadow their presence. They avoid being seen with them in public places. Due to these reasons, attractive people miss out a lot in life.
  • THE ILLUSION OF PERFECTION:
Those radiant eyes, a cute button nose and pouty lips scream about perfection. How can someone so perfect have any problem? “Oh you’re so pretty, how can you be depressed?” or “Hey you’re so pretty, your life is very easy”.
Turns out the perfect face is not so perfect and is judged and gossiped about, at almost every turn of their life. The women featured on the covers of famous magazines look carefree and bold, but in reality, the truth is far from that. People tend to take such people less seriously which may hurt their sentiments.
  • TERRORS OF OLD AGE:
Wrinkled skin, droopy eyes and an occasional pain in joints, the thought of old age sets a panic alarm in your brain. With time, the physical features you are so proud of will dilapidate. The limelight will fade and the artificial hair color will only be able to bring back the lustrous shine that once was talked about all over the neighborhood. This is the constant phobia among the attractive population. Everybody has to grow old; there is no point in dreading it. Just remember that, you will still be the person you are now, and nothing can change that.

HENCEFORTH

If you experience any of the above issues, than congratulations, consider yourself the paragon of elegance. And if not that, thank the god for sparing you from such hassles. Whichever category you fall into, be true to yourself and keep your intentions clear and you will rock your way through life. You don’t need to go out of the way to feel beautiful, just keep being the way you truly are. After all physical beauty is only temporary, be beautiful inside out.
