The human relation between them and their environmental Abiotic builds a strong and balanced ecosystem. Biogeochemical cycle recycles the natural resources therefore, they don’t end, by this ecosystem gets in balance. Human is changing the nature for his desires. He is doing deforestation just to make roads, colonies and luxurious societies. This is badly affecting the ecosystem. Tender stability to ecosystem is getting disturbed from these human impacts. Our environment is getting polluted day by day. Very dangerous impact we are facing today and will face tomorrow if this all go on like this. Many steps have raised to diminish pollution.
- In 1992 “National Conservation Strategy” had made in Pakistan and started work. This strategy had main point to conserve natural resources, made a better thinking and manage their uses in public. This strategy contained precautions to build better energy sources and save them.
- Federal minister of environment started a policy “National Drinking Water and Sanitation Policy”. This policy was all about to serve clean and hygiene water to the public and to save water resources. Associated to this policy, heavy machinery of cleansing water had fit in all Pakistan.
- In 2006 UNDP started a project whose name is “Mass Awareness for Water Conservation and Management”. The main purpose of this project was to conserve water resources in Pakistan and run a large mission about awareness of use of water.
- An institute “SCOPE” (Society for Conservation and Protection of Environment) is working for the awareness among public for natural resources conversation of Pakistan and researches with government.
- Institute WWF whose last name was “World Wildlife Fund” and now it is known for “World Wild Fund for Nature” always works for the goodness of nature. It’s also working for the conservation of natural resources and running many projects for the awareness of the importance of natural resources.
- WWF- Pakistan is also playing an active role in this awareness.
- In Ayobiya national park and its nearby states WWFP is doing repairing sub-watershed process. And environmental awareness is building in these areas.
- They are reforesting in many areas of Pakistan.
- They reforest in districts like district Thatta, in Sindh Jatropha and Mangroves trees were planted.
- Examining expanding forestation in every district of Pakistan
- They are running “Saving Wetlands Sky High Program” for saving and managing wetlands in high areas of Pakistan
- They are running “Indus Basin Water Security Project”. In this they are saving water from Indus and serving clean and sweet water to its nearby areas. This is working for the goodness of ecosystem of Indus River.
- “Regional Climate Risk Reduction in Himalayas” is working for to overcome the dangers in environmental changes.
Uses of forests in Pakistan
- The forests of Pakistan are a main source of lumber, paper, fuel wood, medicine as well as human and animal food.
- Other products include resin and “mazri” (used for making baskets).
- The forests provide of ecotourism & wildlife conservation purposes.
- Forests in some Thal desert avoid soil erosion and further desertification. Forests along Indus have been managed to avoid excess flooding.
