Sweet Are The Uses Of Adversity

“Sweet are the uses of adversity, like the toad, ugly & venomous, wears yet a precious jewel in his head”
(William Shakespeare)
As this is obvious about human nature that everyone wants a peaceful, painless and luxury life and never ever wants to face difficulties & hardships. Everyone is afraid of sudden disasters to happen in their life. People are afraid of adversities. But this world doesn't give everything in gold plate.
A world famous poet-dramatist, William Shakespeare gave a different & unique ideology about adversities. He drew a portrait of hardships as blessing for ones. Those who take these as a booster, never gets fail in life. Shakespeare is giving a different idea in this quote and a golden key to success. He showed that the uses of adversity are sweet even more sweet as a jewel of success. He is comparing adversity with toad and sweet uses with jewel. A toad is known as ugly & poisonous creature but it has a jewel in its head as a reward. Adversity has also ugly and unpleasant feeling which everybody hates. But this isn't the end of life. Adversity has a jewel for us as a beautiful reward. Shakespeare wanted to say that adversity is a blessing in disguise.
These are the real test of our braveness. Only those get 100% in this who, fight with these misfortunes firmly. Difficulties give us motivation to suffer & survive against obstacles.
Adversities can have different faces like accident, disabilities, rejection, failure, physical or mental torture and poverty etc. but all these misfortunes are not mortal. If you do combat and never withdraw, you’ll absolutely gain that jewel as success. Adversity examine your tolerate level. If you’re a real brave man, you’ll stand before these difficulties, no matter how strong or cruel they are! Adamant, stubborn & sticky personalities survive from these difficulties.
Adversity actually develop you fortune. It is in your own hand whether you want to live ideal life or a common usual life. Difficulties are actually preparing you for a long run. Life is all about circulation. If there’s no problem or difficulties in your life, so you’re dead! Adversity is just like a strict master of school who punishes you on your mistakes same adversities gives you lesson to beware of mistakes.
Nature also has examples of sweet uses of adversity. Herbs give out their sweet fragrance when they are crushed. Making bouquet of flowers you get hurt from its crotch. It is obvious that after autumn, spring will come. Hardships are just like bitter pills which doctor gives his patient to cure him. Mountains, symbol of hardships are also the reason of balancing the earth. Most beautiful example is parent’s travail for us. Moms bear pain to give birth to a life. Fathers do assignation to feed their families. If all of these not happen so the world would survive some serious crises.
Those who take these hardships as challenge and never retreat, always gain the success. Even though, history is full of those heroes who never gave up against hardships because they believed in God and had faith in their abilities and ideas.
“No one has been blessed with a better gift than patience.”
(Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H.)
Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. bore up against hardships till his birth. His father Abdullah had died before Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) was born. He gave his all in the dignity of Islam. He fought for the truth. He bore up against kuffar for the sake of Islam.
“With faith, discipline & selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve.”
(Muhammad Ali Jinnah)
Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan had a very cruel experience with hardships. In his young age his parents passed away. He had been survived poverty, failure & insult. But he never bowed down before obstacles. He fought for Muslim’s rights. He worked very hard for his nation in spite of his failing health. He got his reward at last in 1947 as Pakistan.
Columbus did a great job in the history of discovery. He fought against many dangers. He discovered the “America” by his full devotion to his passion.
Elbert Einstein bore up against many failures. He was rejected from college. But he did a great research in physics and gave the world new perception to think.
Thomas Edison is often known as example of why failure shouldn't stop you from trying.
Bill Gates well known rich personality of the world also born failures first, then he got his jewel of success.
Successful Personalities with physical disabilities:-
  • Stephen Hawking –(Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Theoretical physicist
  • Helen Keller-(Blind)Lecturer and activist
  • Christy Brown-(Cerebral Palsy) A Poet, painter & author
Hence proved that, there’s nothing which can stop you from achieving your dreams. If we give up before adversities, we’ll never lead a successful life. And if, we take adversity as a chance and challenge, we get boost up from it, so nothing can stop us from achieving us from our jewel of success.
